- The Esperante is an aluminum bodied limited production sports car featuring the drivetrain from the Mustang Cobra. This includes the Cobra’s IRS (independent rear suspension), although the Esperante features bespoke cantilevered coilovers that sets itself apart from the Mustang
- This is the first production vehicle to utilize Aluminum Super Plastic Forming for its body panels (this process allows aluminum to be formed into incredibly complex shapes without fracturing or deforming). Not only is the Esperante a lightweight, but weight distribution is a perfect 50/50
- Before they began producing cars, Panoz Motor Sports Group owned two racetracks (Road Atlanta, Sebring) as well as the American LeMans series. The group also owned and operated its own race team. Their continuous racing efforts eventually pushed Panoz into classes with homologation rules that required a certain number of street cars be produced in order to compete – hence the Esperante and AIV were born (the AIV was their first street car)
- Despite the racing pedigree, this car was designed to be a supple grand tourer with a luxurious interior
